Latoyia is an Emmy Award-winning anchor on NBC 10 Boston and NECN.

She joined the NBC Boston and NECN family as a morning reporter in 2005, arriving from WWLP-22 in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she had been a weekday anchor.

A native of Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood, Latoyia graduated magna cum laude from Emerson College with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She began her career as a news writer for WBZ 1030-AM radio, and later reported for the Fox affiliate WICZ-TV 40 in Binghamton, New York.

Latoyia was a scholar athlete who not only excelled in the classroom but on the basketball court breaking numerous NCAA Division III rebounding and blocked shots records.  Latoyia currently ranks 5th in the nation in blocked shots per game 5.1 and 4th in the nation in rebounds per game 15.2.

Kathryn (Kate) Kate Ackerman, MD, MPH, FACSM is the Founder and Director of the Female Athlete Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She is also the Founder and Director of the International Female Athlete Conference held biennially in Boston. A lifelong athlete, Dr. Ackerman discovered rowing as a walk-on at Cornell and eventually was on the US Team as a lightweight at the World Championships. She is presently the Chair of the USRowing Medical and Sports

Science Committee, Co-chair of the Women’s Health Task Force of the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and a researcher and speaker for the International Olympic Committee regarding female athlete health issues and relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-S). Board certified in internal medicine, sports medicine, and endocrinology, her research and clinical care involve RED-S; female athlete health, performance, and injury prevention across the lifespan; and the intersectionality of sport, gender, race, culture, and ability. She is on the National Leadership Council of the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance, a $220 million initiative created to enhance health and performance, where she is leading the work on female athletes. 

Joe Reedy was named the head coach of the Curry women’s basketball program in the fall of 2021 after serving as an assistant coach with the Curry men’s program for three seasons.

In his first season with the men’s team, Reedy implemented study hall sessions in conjunction with Academic Services, which led to the highest team grade point average in program history. In addition, he was in charge of designing Adidas gear packages for all student-athletes and coaches. Reedy also played a key part in recruiting 12 student-athletes as a part of the Class of 2023, and played an integral part in all parts of the program including scouting, recruiting, and on-court coaching. He also maintained the video database of all games through Synergy and developed scouting reports from the film.

Before Curry, Reedy spent two years as an assistant coach at Wheelock College. In his second season with the Wildcats, he was named Associate Head Coach.

Reedy also has experience as the Head Coach of Rise Above Basketball in Boston in 2019.

As a student-athlete at Wheelock, Reedy was a member of the men’s basketball team from 2013-16. He also played one year at New England College in Henniker, N.H. During his time at Wheelock, he served as a team captain and holds all-time program records in field-goal percentage in a season and a career. Reedy graduated from Wheelock in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. 

Becca is 41 years old, and lives in Belmont MA with her husband Joe and 14 year old daughter Taylor.   She graduated from Belmont High School in 1998. Having been the first American female to run  the World Marathon Challenge in 2016- 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days, Becca went back, and made history by running it again and breaking the Guinness Book of World Record in a time of 6 Days, 7 Hours and 58 minutes. Her current goal is to complete a marathon in all 50  states she has run 40 states. She attributes her success to the her family and the Boston Community who both have inspired her and supported her dreams. She is most passionate about directing the Becca Pizzi 5k race in Belmont (August 28th), and the Becca Pizzi Foundation and Becca is an author of children’s book “Becca’s Feat on Feet.” All book proceeds benefit the Becca Pizzi Foundation.

 

Leah Douty is a National Association of Sports Medicine certified Personal Trainer. She has been an Equinox Assistant General Manager and Group Fitness Instructor for one year and owns her own fitness company with her sister, Two Toned Training. Leah is also a two sport Division III NCAA Basketball and Lacrosse player from UMass Dartmouth. Leah has a passion for sports, fitness and making people feel empowered! 

Leah was a 4 year varsity basketball player for the Framingham Flyers and a 3 year varsity lacrosse player. Metrowest Elite loves bringing back alumni of Framingham to share where they have been and where they are now. Metrowest Elite welcomes Leah Douty this summer to camp!

Coach Gaines is an Assistant Coach with the Algonquin Regional High Boys Varsity Basketball program, and has also worked as an Assistant Coach in the Framingham High School Varsity Basketball program. He specializes in teaching basketball skill sets, especially post play and shooting mechanics, to developing players and has many, many “success stories”. He has taught over a thousand players to shoot, working with large groups, small groups, and individual players. He is well known for his diverse and fast paced shooting workouts, and has helped many hundreds of young players to perfect their shooting form, and improve their game.

He has taught shooting at numerous basketball clinics and camps throughout the area and in other states, and is known as “The Shot Doctor” for the success he has had in “fixing” bad shooting form. His method of teaching players to shoot is unique, effective and generates noticeable results in a very short time.
